Who we are
Humidity Hulk (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2023/152708/07, trading from 23 Lindsay Road, Ballito, 4399, South Africa. We run the online store at humidityhulk.com.
We take your privacy seriously, and this policy explains in plain language what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It’s written to comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
What we collect
When you buy from us: your name, email address, delivery address, billing address and phone number.
When you pay: your card details go directly to Payfast, our payment provider. We never see or store your card number. If you set up a refill plan, Payfast stores a secure token that lets us charge your card for renewals — we hold the token reference, not the card details.
When you create an account: your username, email address and a password we store encrypted.
When you subscribe to emails: your email address and first name.
When you visit the site: your IP address, browser type, which pages you viewed and how you arrived. This is collected through cookies and analytics tools.
When you contact us: whatever you choose to tell us in the message.
Why we collect it

- To manage refill plans, including renewals, pauses and cancellations
- To send you order updates, delivery tracking and billing notices

- To send marketing emails, but only if you’ve opted in
- To understand how people use our site so we can improve it

Each of these is bound by their own privacy obligations. We may also share information where the law requires it.
Cookies
Our site uses cookies to keep your cart working, remember you’re logged in, and measure how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the site — the cart in particular — won’t work properly without them.
How long we keep it
Order and tax records: seven years, as South African tax law requires. Account details: for as long as your account is open, plus one year. Marketing contacts: until you unsubscribe, plus a record of the unsubscribe so we don’t email you again by mistake. Refill plan details: for the life of the plan, plus seven years for the billing records.
How we protect it
Our site runs over an encrypted connection. Passwords are stored encrypted. Card details never touch our systems. Access to customer information is limited to the people who need it to do their jobs.
No system is perfectly secure, and we won’t pretend otherwise. If a breach ever affects your information, we’ll tell you and the Information Regulator, as POPIA requires.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what information we hold about you
- Correct anything that’s wrong
- Delete your information, where we’re not legally required to keep it
- Stop sending you marketing — or just click unsubscribe on any email
- Object to how we’re using your information

If we change this policy we’ll update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we’ll email anyone it affects.
